We receive “Old World” Indian hospitality in our luxury tents and camps, where you are served gourmet sit-down meals by liveried staff in the middle of the wilderness. We also include a stay at “Castle Mandawa”, which was built in 1755 AD in a township that was a trading outpost for the ancient caravan routes from China to the Middle East.

Many people from “All over the World” who appreciate wonderful things have already come to stay and experience the thrill of Mandawa…There is so much to do here you will not want to leave. They have great facilities for whatever your heart’s desire is… This is a Great Adventurethat everyone whatever age or nationality can enjoy. Most people today live in crowded cities and never see the sun or the clean outdoors. Here your lungs can breathe the pure fresh air!

This is not just sightseeing but” “Living your dream”. The best way to make new friends is to participate in a great sport like Horseback Riding. Many people met and married because of a horse! Believe me!! Or they became young again and went back to the sport of their youth.

You never forget how to ride!!So don’t hesitate one minute. Join us for the time of your life!

The sightseeing is world famous and very interesting. With examples of whole buildings being “Frescoed” by the local owners. People come from all over the world just to see this! Amazing!

**For those of you who have limited time and want to have this marvelous experience and are new to this type of group trail riding.

*We recommend, our 7 Day — Palace to Palace, Safari itinerary. **Ask about 2 day extension!

Of course we have longer treks for large groups that have more time to devote to this great sport. Just contact: International Voyager, Inc. with details and it will be arranged.

Local ownership and breeding is flourishing. Big and Beautiful:

A typical day of happy people on your safari. A morning horse-back ride to a national wild life sanctuary, then traveling in a Jeep Safari to see the animals. Lunch would be waiting at your next camp site, a banquet meal under the shade of “khejri” trees.

At Dusk, your group arrives, safe & sound, at camp or hotel to enjoy a great dinner and entertainment!

At nightfall, we organize a special performance of traditional folk dancers, musicians or a dancing “Marwari”horse to entertain you while you dine. Our luxury tented camps offer comfortable overnight accommodation. In some cases we also use nice small Haveli’s for your comfort and convenience. Who knows? If you like, maybe a camel will be your mode of transport for the next leg of your safari through the sand dunes in the morning.

Or you may want to opt for our Big Dune 4-Wheel drive, Special Vehicles.

** If you have Non-Horse riding members in your group that would like to participate in the “Big Dune”

experience. Please let us know and our operations specialist will contact you with the package details.

Each Safari is customized to blend tradition, equestrian culture and adventure. Creating a memorable experience! Check out the Ears!! The horses of course! This is true devotion to an Honourable profession by a wonderful Man and trainer!

Our safaris are based in Mandawa, a remote feudal principality in the centre of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. It was a trading outpost for the ancient caravan routes that stopped here from China and the Middle East. The Rajput ruler of Mandawa, Thakur Nawal Singh, built a fort in 1755 to protect this outpost. The township that grew around the fort soon attracted a large community of traders, who settled here. Today, the tradition is continued by his Ancestors.

What makes our safari tour more memorable is the experience of riding pure bred Indian horses like Marwari’s in the Indian country side, where you interact with the local people and sometimes nomads. You stay in luxurious camps with cultural entertainment, sometimes accompanied by Folk Musicians. This way you get to see the real India and the experience becomes very memorable when shared with like-minded people who love horses and nature.

* All safaris can be prolonged or shortened according to your wishes.*

Like many historic homes, Castle Mandawa is a curious mixture of the old and the new. Medieval turreted towers, palanquin-roofed balconies, blend with modern comforts in old-world rooms. Family portraits, antique cannons and arms add to the charm of this family-run resort where tradition still runs strong. On the way you can see great Egyptian vulture, it is perhaps the smallest and most widespread of all the vultures found in India. The type species is from Egypt and the subspecies found in the subcontinent is paler and smaller with average weights of 2 kg and a wingspan of 170 cm. They are one of the two species of vultures with a significant population in south India, the other being the Red-headed. In ancient Egypt, it was used as one of hieroglyph and was a symbol of royalty. They are one of the most migratory amongst vultures often covering distances as long as 6000 km and 500 km in a single day. Depending on the time of year other migratory animals and birds may surprise us!

Deers like Chinkara and Blackbuck.

The Chinkara or Indian Gazelle: The Chilkara specie of Gazelle is found in plain lands of India. Marshy, damp, plain land is the habitat situation and adaptation center for this kind of species. A single horned and chest nut color of skin is the identification of specie. Found in: plain lands of Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Deccan land.

The Blackbuck or Indian antelope: The blackbuck is a golden brown color on its back from neck to tail and white color strap underneath covering from under neck to tail. These are largely found in farm land and cultivation areas. The species was under great threat due to its hunting. These attain a height of 2426 inches and females 1012 inches.

Horses we use - There are three predominant breeds of Indian horses in northwest India namely the Marwari, Kathiawadi and Sindhi. The Marwar region (erstwhile Jodhpur State) of Rajasthan has been the home of the MARWARI breed. The Kathiawadi comes from the desert tract of our neighbouring state Gujrat called Kathiawar.
